An update on how we parse the reply-to header for incoming emails
On the reply-to header
As you might know, you can use the reply-to in your email client to advise the recipient that any responses should go to your reply-to email address.
Helpmonks has always respected the reply-to header, but we've made now the following changes:
- Suppose the reply-to email address is the same as the email address of your mailbox in Helpmonks. In that case, we discharge the reply-to address and replace it with the sender's email address.
- Unfortunately, the reply-to is often misused (see below). Hence, we are now detecting this and set the reply-to email address to the sender's email address.
