Using DKIM to help with email delivery


DKIM is used to verify the authenticity of messages sent from your domain.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email authentication method designed to detect email spoofing. It allows the receiver to check that an email claimed to come from a specific domain was indeed authorized by the owner of that domain.[1] It is intended to prevent forged sender addresses in emails, a technique often used in phishing and email spam.

How to configure DKIM with Helpmonks

If you have your own SMTP server, you don’t need to follow this guide as you are already delivering over your own domain!

Adding the DKIM CNAME records is easy. Please go to your respective DNS panel and add a CNAME-record that looks like this: CNAME CNAME

Once saved, you can check if the DKIM records are valid but using the DNS check tool within Helpmonks. Please keep in mind that DNS changes can take up to 48h to propagate.

Validate records

Go to your mailbox settings and click on “Connection”. Then click on the “DKIM” tab and run the test to validate your records. The Helpmonks DNS tools simply check your DNS records. They do not change your DNS records or guarantee that your emails get delivered.
